A Letter from Our Leaders
In 2026, Lighthouse celebrates 50 years of empowering individuals with vision loss to live independently and fully. Since our founding in 1976, thousands of children, teens, and adults across Central Florida have come through our doors seeking opportunity, independence, and a path forward. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and partners, they have found the training, resources, and encouragement needed to build lives filled with confidence and possibility.
The impact shared in this report reflects our work throughout 2024 and 2025 — and the community that makes it possible. Every skill learned, every barrier removed, and every milestone reached represents the power of people coming together to ensure that vision loss never stands in the way of a full and independent life.
As we celebrate this 50-year milestone, we are both proud of the progress made and energized by the work ahead. Thank you for standing with Lighthouse and for believing in the potential of every individual we serve. Because of you, the next chapter will bring even greater opportunity, independence, and impact to our community.

Lighthouse Central Florida / Lighthouse Works
Our mission is simple:
to empower people with vision loss to live, work, and thrive.
Here’s how we make it happen.

Provide early intervention, education, and family support services that help children with vision loss build the skills and confidence they need to succeed in school and life.

Prepare teens and young adults for the future through programs focused on career exploration, independent living skills, and real-world work experience.

Deliver comprehensive vision rehabilitation and independent living training that helps adults adapt to vision loss, regain confidence, and maintain their independence.

Create meaningful careers through Lighthouse Works, connecting individuals who are blind or visually impaired with competitive employment and professional growth.
