Weekly Spotlight: Addressing COVID-19
An image of the coronavirus

Our leadership team has been proactively monitoring the path of the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, and Lighthouse Central Florida will cease all in-person program services until further notice.

These actions are in line with guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and are meant to mitigate risk of potential exposure to our clients, staff and community to limit the spread of the virus.

This step is of crucial importance because many of our clients fall within the 'older-blind' population--a demographic most susceptible to contracting and dying from COVID-19.

There is so much uncertainty surrounding the course this disease will take. Public health experts do however expect the numbers of infected to rise before things plateau and return to some normalcy.

In the interim, our staff remains available to care for our clients by providing digital and remote learning and training through teleconferencing and virtual activities.

Your support of vision rehabilitation services at Lighthouse Central Florida--especially during times of crisis and uncertainty--ensures that uninterrupted services and training continues for Central Florida's community of blind and visually impaired babies, children, teens, adults and seniors.

Please take good care of yourselves and your families.

Thank YOU!
