Dear Friends,

Tammy Roussell is the CEO and founder of Mitsy Kit, an organization with a social mission, providing accessible sewing and crafting kits that reignite creativity and purpose for those challenged by physical or cognitive impairments.

Tammy believes the company was a divinely inspired blessing and answered prayer to help her mother find renewed purpose after she lost her eyesight to retinitis pigmentosa (RP).

"Sharing Mitsy Kit with others allows us to multiply the blessings and fulfills a renewed purpose of my own to make a difference in the lives of others."

Last year Tammy, her husband and both of their 94 year-old mothers, relocated to Central Florida from Massachusetts.

"After six months of getting settled in our new home, we sought to restart Mitsy Kit with new partners in our area and were delighted to discover Lighthouse Central Florida."

Mitsy Kit has quickly become a valued community partner with Lighthouse. They participated in last year's Sight & Sole FallFest, and earlier this year Tammy and her team led an adaptive crafting workshop for our adult program.

Recently, Tammy has partnered with the Supply Chain division at Lighthouse Works to assemble and ship Mitsy Kits from our fulfillment warehouse in south Orlando.

"Partnering with Lighthouse Works helps us fulfill our mission beyond our immediate clients by helping to employ the blind and visually impaired while also helping to scale our production and distribution with an experienced, quality minded partner."
