#CollectiveImpact: Team Work Makes The Dream Work!

Dear Friends,

If you're like me, a bit of good news in the midst of so much uncertainty, is always welcomed.

Thanks to YOUR past and ongoing support of Lighthouse Central Florida and Lighthouse Works, we are still able to empower Central Florida's community of blind and visually impaired through fully accessible, remote and virtual platforms. (Stay tuned for more details on that).

YOUR support and belief in the Empowerment Through Employment model for Lighthouse Works is helping us CREATE jobs NOW--when most needed amidst the COVID-19 economic crisis.

We're even able to lend a helping hand to other community partners offering crucial services in this rapidly changing environment.

Take a few minutes to watch these short video updates that YOU made possible!

WE'RE HIRING!

On April 1st our commercial call center (4Sight360) signed a contract with the state's Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) to help with the surge in unemployment claims triggered by the economic shocks of COVID-19. The expanded contract represents the creation of 60 plus jobs.

#CollectiveImpact

Yesterday morning I met with Eric Gray, the Executive Director at United Against Poverty Orlando--an exceptional organization working to alleviate poverty and empower communities. UAP runs a cost sharing grocery store that is providing affordable food to families most in need. Eric and his team were in desperate need of face masks to protect their cashiers and the customers with whom they interact. Thanks to YOU, the Lighthouse leadership team was able to deliver 500 protective face masks from our Products division.
